Is Elavumkal Regency a ladies-only hostel?
Yes. Elavumkal Regency is a hostel only for women, for both students and working women in Thodupuzha.
Are students and working women in the same building?
No. We have separate buildings for students and for working professionals, so each group can keep its own routine.
Can nurses and hospital staff stay here?
Yes. Nurses, doctors and other hospital staff are welcome in the building for working women. The hostel is close to Smita Memorial Hospital (Smitha Hospital), Vengalloor, Thodupuzha.
Is this a PG or a hostel?
Elavumkal Regency is a ladies hostel, not a paying guest room in a family home. Food is included, and students and working women stay in separate buildings. If you are looking for a ladies PG in Thodupuzha, call us and we will explain how the hostel works.
Is food included?
Yes. Home-style Kerala food, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, is included in your stay.
Where exactly is the hostel?
We are at Achankavala, Madakkathanam, Thodupuzha, Idukki district, on the Thodupuzha–Muvattupuzha road (SH 8), near Smita Memorial Hospital (Smitha Hospital). The hostel has easy connectivity to all parts of Thodupuzha.
Is transportation available?
Yes. Transportation is available for residents. Call us to know the routes and timings.
Do you have Wi-Fi and parking?
Yes. Wi-Fi is available, and there is parking for residents who have their own vehicle.
Is the hostel safe?
The hostel is in peaceful surroundings, and CCTV and security are in place.
How much are the fees?
Fees depend on the room and the length of stay. Call us or send a booking request and we will share the current rates.
Can I visit before joining?

Which colleges is the hostel close to?
Residents study at colleges across Thodupuzha, including UCE Thodupuzha, Newman College, the Al-Azhar colleges, Holy Family College of Nursing and the Co-operative School of Law. See the students page for the full list.
Can bank employees stay at Elavumkal Regency?
Yes. Women working at any bank in Thodupuzha, including SBI, Federal Bank, South Indian Bank, Canara Bank and co-operative banks, are welcome in the building for working women. Food is included and parking is available.
I have been posted or transferred to Thodupuzha. How do I book?

Can government employees and teachers stay here?
Yes. Women in government jobs, PSC appointees, teachers and other public sector staff are welcome in the building for working women. Food is included, and transport and parking are available.
Can I stay while attending IELTS, OET or PSC coaching?
Yes. Women attending IELTS, OET, German, PSC, bank exam or entrance coaching in Thodupuzha are welcome. Call us with your course dates to discuss the length of your stay and the current rates.
Is there Wi-Fi for online classes?
Yes. Wi-Fi is available for online classes, mock tests, work and calls home.
Is the food vegetarian or non-vegetarian?
Both. We serve vegetarian and non-vegetarian home-style Kerala food. Tell us about any food preference when you book.
Do you have accommodation for lady doctors and house surgeons?
Yes. Lady doctors, house surgeons, dentists, pharmacists and other hospital staff are welcome in the building for working women. Call us with your joining date to check availability.
Are you adding new facilities?
Yes. New buildings are under construction on the campus, and an in-house gym is coming for residents. Call us for the latest progress.
